2004 Kiddush Hashem Syrah

Winemaker’s Notes and Chemistry

This wine is holding up well and tasting lovely.  The color is medium-dark red, fading to brackish toward the edge.  Aromas of tobacco, violets, and raspberries give way to smoked pork, vanilla and coffee.  The tannins are well integrated – the wine is smooth but not too soft.  There is good fruit presence throughout.  Significant sediments attest to the “hands off” approach with this wine and the result is impressive.  It was not filtered or fined.  Decanting after settling for 24 hours is recommended.
