Crisp and refreshing. Aromas of citrus, apricot and peach. Good acidity and a touch of minerality makes this wine easy and fun to drink.
The fruit was gently destemmed before being pressed. Cold settled for two days, then racked and inoculated with yeast. A long, cool, controlled fermentation to dryness. Post fermentation, the wine was stored in stainless steel and did not go through malolactic fermentation.

The 2009 Pretense is a beautiful wine, offering aromas of bing cherries, blueberries, roses and violets. The deep garnet color is entrancing and seems to stain the glass. On the palate it is juicy and fresh despite its ample backbone of fine-grained tannins. The mouth feel is rich and the wine is suffused with notes of smoky dark chocolate, blackberry, raspberry and fruit compote, and hints of caramel. These flavors linger pleasantly through the long finish. Aromas, flavors, alcohol and tannin are in balance in this wonderfully complex, refreshing wine.
